USING WOOL
(To the Editor.) Sir,—ln the "Evening Post" a few days ago I saw to my great satisfaction, an article on wool. I warmly congratulate the person, who wrote it. ■ Since my arrival in New Zealand some ten years ago, I have been most anxious to encourage the use of wool for the filing of mattresses. In France we never, used anything else, and it.makes such a good comfortable bed and is very durable. Without doubt, woollen mattresses are superior to those .made from kapok.' So why import kapok? In thiß country, where wool is one of the chief;produ?ts, it seems to me certainly an egregious mistake and a loss to New Zealand np.t! to make every available use of this article. Surely, too, this is a moment in which to relieve the present condition of the New Zealand farmers, and thereby tend to the general improvement of the country's position. I trust that some who have the welfare of our country at heart will unite and put forth their efforts to see that the abundant wool (of the present day low prices) is put to this most advantageous use in the making of pillows and mattresses.—-I am, etc, .■■ ■ . ;, A NATURALISED.
