' ■ At the aiinual meeting of tho Citizens' Day Nursery yesterday, the president, jV:i>s. grazer, said that tho committee had decided to offer to take fifty refugee children each day, of ages from two up to six years. A meal will be given each day, and all caro taken of the littlo ones. It was felt that many mothers might be glad •to avail. themselves of the offer. ..... At the monthly meeting of the Jolmsonville Town Board last evening it was decided to open a public subscription list for the earthquake relief fund. At a mooting of tho New Zealand Educational Institute Jast evening coim sidci'ation was given,to the question of rblioviiijf teachers in tho Hawkes Bay district who had suffered loss through the earthquake.. It was mentioned that several teachers had been brought to AVellington and .other centres by relief cars in a penniless condition, having lost their money and practically all their effects. The executive decided that immediate relief should- be granted to eHses! of hardship and asks that those in jtaecassity should- communicate at o.n<¥'-■ cither" with their own branch or witii tho general secretary in Wellington. ■ ■■.-■.•■• The Mayor, of Motueka (Mr. Clay) has telegraphed to. the Mayor of _ Wellington offering to supply quantities of fruit and vegetables to those in need of them in tho earthquake area, and to say where such supplies can be sent. The Mayor has replied accepting tho offer, and informing him to send them direct to the Salvation Army authorities at Hastings. A public meeting Ims been called by the Ngaio Progresive Association, to be held in the Ngaio Town Hall to-night, to consider earthquake relief. The Pefcone Borough Council has vofc-
