STATE ACTION SUGGESTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) STRATFORD/ 7-th February. The sub-provincial executive of the Farmers' Union passed the following "resolution:—' As a measure to alleviate the distress of the colossal an<^ national calamity this meeting of farmers' represen-^ tatiyes urges on the Prime Minister" the. necessity of-obtaining v' supply of' flour from Australia for the immediate benefit of tho people in the area affected, and so as to permit of rationing and distribution of same as economically anil-advaiitagcously as possible, that the tariff regulations be waived'or amended.. The chairman suggested that, instead of sending money to the relief fund, Australians should send the equivalent in flour, thus saving exchange.
