Although the flood waters have largoly disappeared from the affected areas ' of the metropolis, they have left aY loathsonie heritage of slush and debris. This is a serious menace to health, and tho authorities in. their effort to prevent an outbreak of disease are issuinjf disinfectants free. • ~ _ The Mayor of Lismore stated that there was great distress among th« people there. The damage is estimated at £100,000. The township of Coraki is virtually an island, with miles of water round. Hundreds of cattle and pigs were drowned, and th«, plight of farmers is serious.
