MAN PUNCHES HIS MOTHER

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ! ASHBUJRTON, 9th February. Patrick M'Ginn, aged 39, was to-day sentenced to two months' hard labour for assaulting, his mother, Margaret M'Ginn,. aged 74, on Friday night. M'Ginn struck his mother with his clenched fist, blacking both her eyes, one- being completely- closed up. Her face was terribly bruised. The accused knocked her on tho bed and punched her. "I don't remember what happened," said the accused. "I was under the influence of drink."■ •
