After having, been in the earthquake zone at Napicr^'since Tuesday, the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy and the Hon. J. G. Cobbe arrived at Palmerston North this morning accompanied by the Mayor, and alsp Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P., and Mr. J. Linklater, M.P. They visited the refugee camps and yexpressed both surprise and relief at the efficient organisation at the show gcounds. They inspected the accommodation, Ked Cross facilities, and sanitation conditions, and then went to'Awapuni, where they were shown over the cooking arrangements and sleeping quarters by Mr. V. T. Dibble. Subsequently Mr. Cobbe extended congratulations to Mr. C. Louisson (president-of the Manawatu Bating Club) on the splendid organisation at Awapuni, stating that it was earning the gratitude of all. "It is a great relief to find the clearing base so well organised. A little looseness here would break clown the whole system,"'declared Mr. Stallworthy. In the Magistrate's Court, Percy Edmonds and Richard Sullivan, described as labourers with no fixed place of abode,''were charged with being found at the refugees' camp at the show grounds without lawful excuse. Edmonds was sentenced to fourteen days' imprisonment and Sullivan to a month.
