Miss B. Kelsey returned to Wellington to-day by the Makura after a trip to the Islands. Miss Phyllis,, Francis, who was the guest of Mrs. W. X Herbert, The Terrace, for a few days, has returned to Christchurch. ' Miss Phyllis Agar, Melbourne, who has been visiting Hawkes Bay, has returned to Wellington, and is the guest of Mrs. W. F. Sloman, Tinakori road. Miss Diana Allen, Fendalton, Christchurch, who has been visiting Mrs. Guy Williams, Masterton, has returned home. Dr. and Mrs. Alister Young, Wellington, are spending a short holiday at Paremata. Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Williams and Miss Lucy Williams, Cashmere Hills, Christchurch, will leave on 20th February for a trip to England. Mrs. Harold Pearce, Karon, has returned from a holiday visit to Packakariki. tt Miss Enid Triggs, Napier, is the guest of Mrs. Arthur Warburton, The Terrace. Miss Betty Parr, who has been visiting Wellington, returned to Auckland last week. ■ Miss Molly Curtis, Cliristchuvch, lias returned' home after a visit to Wellington. Mrs. Shields, Wellington, is visiting Mr, and Mrs. Cribb, Winchester Settlement, Temuka. Miss, Mavis Shields is the guest of Mrs. Greenfield, Temuka. Miss B. J. Watt, Wellington, is staying, at the Clarendon Hotel, Christchurch. | Mrs. Irvine, who lias been visiting Christchurch after residing in England for twenty-seven years, has arrived in Wellington. Mrs. Irvine was formerly Miss Kos.e Blaney (of Dunedin), who was widely known as a singer. " Mra. W. P. Endean, Parnell, Auckland, has returned home after a visit to Wellington. Mrs. B. Main Hathaway, Bcmuera, Auckland, who arrived in Wellington from England by the Mataroa, has returned home. "The Post's" London representative, writing ori 2nd January, states that the engagement is announced of Maurice Howard Clare, K.A.F., only son of Mr. and Mrs. B. M..Hanldnson-, of Wellington^ to Klma Victoria, Anne, elder daughter- of Mrs. Giinson and of the latei GeorgV Gunson, of Freshfield, Lancashire. Another engagement is tliat of' the Bey. Henry It. Mrs. Brumfit was formerly Miss Etliel Good,, of .Wellington. The bridegroom-elect is the son of Mr. John Foster, 0.8. E., ex. C.1.8.1.C., and Mrs. Foster, of Bangor, Co. Down, Ireland.
