SUNDAY SCHOOL UNION
The Wellington; Sunday School Union, which last year celebrated the jubilee of its foundation,' has at Christmas time fora number of years now made a special effort op behalf of members, teachers, nnd j parents' of back country Sunday schools. The organiser, during his work of forming schools and finding teachers, has met with many who have been thoroughly interested in _the work. .The schools formed are designated extension schools. It is worthy iof note that es the scholars pass through the schools, quite a number of them (mostly young wbnien) become teachers. December last saw the union's officers at work on their Christmas gifts. The total number of toys and articles of clothing sent was 312; magazines, 943; books, 40. Cigarette cards were also sent. Many letters of thanks from teachers, parents, and the scholars have been received. The union is deeply grateful to the following Sunday school workers, who made the 1930, effort possible: Miss Stevenson (Lower Hutt -Methodist), Miss Oldfield (Vivian Street Church of Christ), Mrs. Kodda (Johnsonville Methodist), Mr. Eowse (Thorndon Methodist), Junior Girls' Bible Class (Brooklyn Methodist), Children of the Rally Choir (Petone), also, members of the Port Guides, per Mrs. Captain Huntington.
