GISBORNE'S EXPERIENCE
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) -, GISBOBSTB, This Day. ' A fairly sharp shock was experienced here at 8.57 this evening. During the day four aeroplanes arrived here at intervals, being utilised' for carrying mails and telegrams. - Among 1400 telegrams " brought from Auckland by Captain Mill in a Moth, the great majority were -from Auckland, expressing sympathy and anxiously inquiring of the welfare of friends and relatives. A very large number of these were prepaid. ' On Tuesday Gisborne (jxperienced » very heavy shock which did some damago to a few shops-and their contents, and also brought down a 'number of chimneys in private houses. Jfo one, wag injured and little damage was done. Since then several, shocks, more or less sharp, were experienced at interyals, but no great damage was dou# in Gisborne or vicinity.
