FARMERS' TOUR
BRITISH NATIONAL UNION THE PROGRAMME
(From "The Post's" Representative.) - ■ LONDON, 4th December. The British National Union has been making arrangements for a tour of Dominion farmers through Great Britain during l the coming Northern Hemisphere summer. This tour will be j largely iv the nature, of a return visit to the ono made by British farmers Australia and New Zealand at the beginnnig of this year. "A very warm welcome awaits the members of tho party," said Mr. A. Cauham (secretary), when speaking of tho arrangements. "We expect to have between 20 and 25 farmers each from New Zealand;, Australia, South Africa, and Canada, with perhaps a few from the colonies. We propoSe'to use motor coaches throughout the country instead of tho railways. Tho two great National Agricultural Shows will be visited —the Highland Show in Edinburgh and the Eoyal in Warwick. A visit will be paid to Epsom on the day the 'Derby' is run, and another outstanding item- will be the conference with representatives of tho woollen industry in Bradford. We are also trying to arrange meetings with representatives of the great distribution trades. In New Zealand the -Farmers' Union is handling the matter for us, and in tralia wo have asked, j Messrs. Dalgety to deal with all inquiries." '•.
The programme drawn 'out shows first a week with headquarters in London, from Ist June to 7th 'June. Perth, Aberdeen, Inverness, Oban,. Glasgow, and Edinburgh will. be. places visited from Bth June to 25th June. c Prom '29th June* to 11th" July'the, party are to be, at Liverpool, Bradford, Leeds, Leamington, Stratford-on-Avon,, Warwick,-, and -Birmingham. ■ From 12th July, to 31st July the places to bo visited include Oxford, Beading, Ipswich, Norwich, Spalding, Peterborough, Bedford, and so back to London.
A number of the visitors to bo known as "B" party Will have the same programme aB from Ist June to 9th July. From that date they, will break off from the main body and visit the West Country, including Gloucester, Bristol, Bath, Bideford, Clovelly, Exeter, and Yeovil. From there they will go on to :Salisbuiy, Winchester, Chichester, and Brighton, arriving back in.London on;29th July.
