WITHDRAWAL FROM CONTEST

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, 3rd February. An exchange of letters between Mr. Paul Spriugman, representative of the Empire Crusade and the United Party in the- East Islington by-election now pending, and Miss Cazalen, Conservative candidate, has resulted in the withdrawal of Mr. Springman. The contest will be between Labour, Conservative, and Liberal candidates. The vacancy was caused by the death of the Labour member, Dr. Ethel Bentham, who had a majority of 2000 over the Conservative candidate and ( 4000 over the Liberal candidate in the General Election.
