SPEEDWAY RACING
SIX OVEBSEAS BLDEES.
The big overseas' night to be held at the Kilbirnie* Stadium Speedway on Saturday gives promise of providing some of the most sensational performances yet recorded on the local track, and, for that matter, in New Zealand. All the visiting competitors—"Squib" Burton (England), George Greenwood (England), Charlie Spinks (Australia), Harold Stevens (Australia), Eric Whittle (Australia), and Sid. Perkins (Australia) are riders of the spectacular type, and they will make the cinders fly in great style. All are to meet in special match races, a.nd from Burton and Spinks, who figured in a sensational contest in Auckland last week, there should be some exceptionally fine performances. These two noted riders, each of whom has a long list of notable achievements, are to be given special opportunities of setting up new records, and both are very keen to eclipse the record-break-ing solo effort by F. Pearce last season. Previous experience of the local track should be of considerable benefit to Burton and Spinks in their efforts on Saturday night. Other information regarding the meeting is given in an announcement made elsewhere.
