FOUND DROWNED

A finding that the deceased was found drowned in Wellington Harbour on 30th November was returned by tho Coroner, Mr. J. S. Barton, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court to-day at the conclusion of an inquest into tho. death of Joseph John Patterson. The drowning took place about 16th November, and there was no evidence to show how the deceased camo to be in tho water.

James Rose said that he was fishing on the Thorndon Breastwork on 30th November. His line fouled a heavy object iv the water, and when he drew it in he saw that.it was'a body in a state of decomposition. Ho notified tho police.

Constable Fletcher gave evidence as to having found a bicycle behind some buoys on the Thorndon Breastwork on 16th November. Some clothing which was wrapped up in a. parcel attached to the bicycle was found to be that of tho deceased.
