A FRACTURED ARM
ALLEGED NEGLIGENT TREATMENT
The merits of plaster and wooden splints in the treatment of a fractured arm are under discussion in the Magistrate's Court to-day, when the case in which the plaintiffs are Arthur Oswald Richardson, his wife, Rebecca Margaret Eichardson, and Maaleolm Richardson, and the- defendant Dr.' William. Braeewell Mercer, of Dunedin. The claim, which arises out of the alleged negligent treatment of Malcolm Richardson's arm in the Public ■Hospital by Dr. Mercer, is for £100 special and £100 general damages. The-evidence is almost wholly of a technical nature. The Court was occupied this morning in hearing that of Dr. Gillies, chief of the orthopaedic department of tho Wellington. Hospital. Mr. E. Page, S.M. is on the' Bench. Mr. Atkinson appears for the plaintiff, and Mr. C. A. L. Troadwell for the defendant.
