SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS. Barometers have fallen slightly in Southern New Zealand owing to the passage of a depression of tho westerly typo over tlio Southern Tasman Sea. An anti-cyclono is still located over the Eastern. Tasman Sea, with its centre in the northern portion, but it has been gradually losing intensity. A few isolated showers fell yesterday morning in the Auckland province, Westland, and, since last night, about Foveaux Strait, but otherwise, though dull at times, the weather has been fair and mild. Winds between west, and north have prevailed, moderate mainly, but since last night they have freshened somewhat in and south of Cook Strait.
