MOTOR-SHIP DISPUTE

A SAILING ANNOUNCEMENT (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Bth December. The new motor-vessel Taupata, which lias been delayed in Auckland since Friday owing to trouble regarding the crew, is announced to sail for Norfolk Island at noon to-morrow. About 80 tons of cargo which was discharged from the vessel was being reloaded to-day. The trouble which delayed the vessel concerned the manning scale. The Seamen's Union requested that a member of the union should be employed in the engine-room as a wiper, but the owner, Mr. George Niccol, refused to engage an extra man for the purpose. The dispute had not been settled to-day, and as far as could be. ascertained deck hands had not signed on the vessel. Neither Mr. Niccol nor Mr. T. F. Anderson, secretary of the union, would make a statement. ■ '.
