"While -working at the Paekakarik* quarry this morning, J. W. Tipene, a labourer, aged 57, had his left hand; badly shattered by an explosion, .ofj dynamite. He was attended; to by thai Paraparaumu district nurse and was brought into Wellington by train. Ha| was then removed by the City Ambulance to the Hospital, where he is i^ ported to be doing well, '
