UNLAWFUL SALE OF MILK

The business relationship between two men in connection with the sale ,pf milk was gone into by Mr. E. Page, S.M., in tlio Magistrate's Court to-day, when Victor Field was charged with being unlawfully in the possession of milk for sale and with selling milk without a licence, and Fadialla Khouri with selling milk containing 7 per cent, added water, and with unlawfully employing an agent to" sell milk in the city. Field, for whom Mr. A. B. Sievwright appeared, said that he and Khouri were working on a profit-sharing- basis, the latter supplying the milk from his farm at Karori. Khouri (Mr. C. Evans-Scott) said that he sold the milk to Meld at the gates of the farm at a fixed price. He knew that Field did not have a licence to sell in the city. ' ■ After hearing the evidence, the Magistrate dismissed the first charge against Khouri, as there was not sufficient evidence. The second charge was withdrawn. Field was fined £4 for selling the milk, and ordered £o pay' the costs, 10s, on the other charge.
