GIFT TO SIR THOMAS LIPTON

(Received sth December, 3 p.m.) NEW YORK, 4th. December. Sir Thomas Lipton was presented with a sup of goodwill for sportsmanship to-day by the Mayor, Mr. James Walker, who, witli tho humorist, Mr. Will Rogers; arranged a public subscription for the gift. Sir Thomas Lipton was overcome by the heat in the Presentation Chamber of the City Hall, but quickly recovered. . Mr. Rogers was unable to be present, but he sent the following telegram: "You think this a flue cup. Say,' this is nothing to the one we are going to give you when'you lose next time."
