PAIR WEATHER
BUT SOME SHOWERS The unsettled weather of yesterday morning gave place as the day progressed to decidedly more pleasant conditions. The southerly wind gradually decreased, and barometers have now risen to a normal level. Since last night, however, anti-cyclonic influences have been a trifle, disorganised by a slight low pressure wavo passing in the South. This has caused winds to return to a westerly • quarter, and this morning scattered showers were reported as falling in western districts and in the far north and far south. At i) a.m. hail was reported from Nugget Point. Auckland had a south-westerly breeze yesterday and changeable weather with occasional light showers. The heavy rain experienced in Wellington yesterday morning gave place to a fine afternoon and evening. The wind remained a cool southerly. In Christchureh yesterday the weather was cool and cloudy, and in Dunedin it was unsettled and showery at times. Fair weather for the most part can be expected, with moderate to strong winds from some quarter between west and south. Scattered showers at times are forecasted, however, and temperatures will remain on the cool side.
