LABOUR SPLIT
BRITISH BY-ELECTIONS
LEFT WING INTRANSIGEANTS
LONDON, 22nd November. "We mean to win East Renfrew, despite the Government," said the vanguard of the Left Wing of the Labour Party on arrival in Glasgow. It is expected that twenty Labour members of the House of Commons, headed by Sir Oswald Mosley, will conduct a campaign in the constituency during the next week, leaving the Government with a trifling majority over tho Conservatives in the House. Mr. J. Maxton declares that the Labour Party is not so much attacking Mr. Irwin, who is a member ox the Independent Labour Party, as Loft-Wingers and their working class policy. Another interesting by-plection is progressing in Whitechapel, duo to the death of Mr. H. Gosling (Labour). There is a huge Jewish vote here, and tho question of the Palestine policy is uppermost. Lord Mclchett, in a message, states that there is an. opportunity to strike a blow at the Government.
