HOBART, 23rd November. The '• Discovery, with Sir Douglas Mawson and the members of his expedition, sailed for the South, and was accorded an. enthusiastic Bend-off by crowds ashore and yachts in the harbour. -
Sir Douglas, in a farewell message, thanked the "people of Hobart for their hospitality. He declared that the value of the Antarctic.would increase with a better knowledge of it. The ship expects to reach Macquarie Island in seven or eight days, and, after a short stay, will proceed toward the ice.
