Support in securing the registration of all Asiatics engaged in the fruit business was asked for by the Wellington Fruit Auctioneers' Association in a letter which came before the Masterton Chamber of Commerce on -Tuesday. The letter stated that serious abuses had occurred, having been made possible by the difficulty of identifying Asiatic traders. Some o£ them went bankrupt or absconded and then obtained further credit in other places under other names. The association had particulars of one man who went bankrupt under one name, absconded under another, ana obtained further credit under a third name. It was decided to support the association's request, which had already been submitted to the Associated Chambers of Commerce.
