KARORI CLUB
At Trentham on Saturday the Karori Club shot the third event of the season's championship series, at 800 yards and 900 yards. Customary Trentham weather prevailed, and conditions were tricky enough to upset the best of calculations as to windage. At 800 yards A. I. Coleman returned a meritorious 49. R. Porter and Pres. R. Caughley each scored 45. At 900 yards H. V. Croxton scored 44 with a five-bull finish. R. Porter also came along with a 44, but with not such a good finish. L. Old was third was 43. Porter's 45 and 44 off the gun was a creditable performance under the conditions, and placed him on top for the day. The second place was filled by a first-year shot, G. Hunter, who, with 10 handicap, reached the club standard of S9. ■ A. I. Coleman was third. The weekly competition resulted: — Scratch man, H. V. Croxton, 41, 44, 85; handicap man, R. Porter, 45, 44, 0, 89. - Next Saturday the club will again shoot over SOO yards and 000 yards, which will also count for the ■ championship.
