COACH FUND.

On the motion of Mr. Broad it was decided:' to establish a special coach fund. Approval was given Qf tho allocation to this fund of £100 from the association's accumulated .funds, - contributions from honorary members during next;season, interest from the association's investments, and all payments made by clubs and schools for the services of the coach. :

HOME AND AWAY MATCHES.

At the suggestion of Mr. Broad it was decided to urge the New Zealand Council, if it is unable to arrange for a visit from an overseas team, to institute "home and away" matches for the Plunket Shield.

Mr. Broad said that the New Zealand Cricket Council had stated there would be no visit, during the coming season from an overseas team. That was very bad news for the association. When there was a visit from an overseas team matters were simple. By the institution of "home and away" matches,- however, he thought it would mean to.the association au additional income of at least £150 .a year, and not only that players would benefit. Mr. D. M'Kenzie, seconding the pro-1 position, said he thought it would be.! in the.best interests of New Zealand cricket,. and hoped that the suggestion would., be discussed as a, resolution at the annual meeting of the Cricket CouiTcil. Mr. H.- M'Girr referred to the fact | that the. annual report of the Canter-j bury Association stated that thero had'.j been a loss of £70 on the Plunket Shield j match between Canterbury and Otago, and asked whether the proposal was sound from a financial' point of view. Another delegate asked how the scheme would affect club cricket.

Replying, Mr. Broad said that, although Canterbury might have made a loss on the Otago match, they must have made up on the extra matches that would have been played against the other two provinces'. Club cricket would be affected no 'more than last season, which, even though the M.C.C. team was in the Dominion, was one of the record years for, club cricket. Questions werejaßked by Mr. Nimmo (Karori) and. Mr. Cuming (Marist) regarding the promotion and relegation of junior teams. In reply it was stated by Mr. Broad that those were matters for the incoming committee.
