KARORI CLUB

The Karori Defence Rifle Club opened its season on the Somerville range at Trentham on Saturday. The president, Mr. R. Caiighley, was unavoidably absent. There was a good muster and some good scores were returned. The weather was fine but the failing light towards the close of the afternoon and a tricky rear wind made conditions difficult for the less experienced. Being merely a practice shoot, no handicaps were allotted, and the ranges were 300 yards and 500 yards. At 300 yards J M'Kelvie was top scorer, with 47, finishing with four bulls. At 500 yards T. H. Boon scored 49 under tricky conditions. H. Frankland and H. V. Croxton followed closely with 48 each. The top score was T. H. R. Boon with 94. He counted J. M'Kelvie, who with two 47's produced the same score. The scores were: — 300 yds. 500 yds. Ttl. Boon, T. H. R 45 49 !)4 M'Kelvie, J 47 47 94 Frankland. H 45 48 93 Croxton, H.
