Matches under the auspices of the WellinKtou Chess League wei;e advanced a further stage ou Thursday 'evening, when teams from the Karori and Ngaio clubs, opposed caeli other in the Gas Company I building, Courtenay place. P. _0_ Total .. 0% Total ... ; 1% The Ngaio club scores a point in the junior teams' tourney of the Wellington Chess League, the' tally at the first sis boards being Ngaio 4%, Karori 1%.' The adjourned game between Messrs. J. L Hardy (Wellington South Chess Club) and W. H. Hughes (Wadestown Chess Club) was concluded on Saturday evening, the latter winning. The final score is thus Wadestown i, Wellington South 2. The Wadestown club accordingly scores a point in the League's senior teams' competition. The League's drawings for October (round 4) are as follow:—Senior teams: Ngaio v. Wadestown and Wellington v. Wellington South; junior teams, Ngaio v. Wadestown, Karori v. Working Men's Club, and Hutt Valley Chess Club v Wellington Chess Club. The Hutt Valley and Wadestown Clubs are leading jointly in the latter competition, the Ngaio club (last year's winners) being one point behind. '
