SUCCESSFUL DANCES

SCOTS COLLEGE FUNCTION

-The last for-this year of the monthly "social evenings" was held at Scots College on Saturday night, and proved to be as sucaessful as the previous ones. These socials.have been organised by the ladies' committee, under the auspices of the Parents' Association, and the proceeds are' to be devoted to a fund for . building. a • pavilion in the sports ground of the college. During the evening Mr. Black (president of the Parents' Association) thanked the ladies of the committee for their work. A flag for. the college was. in view. This had . been. designed by Mr. Scotland and worked by Mrs. Prosser and Mrs. Schrade'r. There were ISO guests, and dancing and games, followed by a home-made supper, provided entertainment for all. Duff (blue satin),' Ola Harvey (flame georgette), Miriam Watt (floral pink satin), and M. .Possenniskie , (lemon, georgette). Toe H. Dance. The pretty dance hjfij at the corner of Cuba and Vivian streets was en fete on Saturday night, when the members of Too H., the League of Women Helpers (Toe Emmas), and other friends held a most successful dance. The room . was charmingly decorated with coloured streamers, intertwined in trellis fashion, and each alcove was furnished, making pleasant sitting-oTft places for the guests. An excellent supper was provided and served by the L.W.H. Among those present were Dr. Bowerbank (president), Mr. and Mrs. C. Clark, Mrs. Olphert and -her two daughters and son, Mr. and Mrs. U. Silver, and Miss Thompson (secretary). Many dainty frocks were worn.
