Moderate to fresh winds between west and south-west have prevailed, and the weather has been cool and changeable with cloudy and sunny conditions alternating. Light showers have fallen at times in nearly all districts, but during Saturday some rather heavy falls occurred in the eastern and southern portions of the South Island. There have.also been some snow showers on the South Island ranges. Several slight depressions crossed the Dominion during the week-end and barometers have consequently been somewhat unsteady.
