BREACH OF PROBATION
A warning that if he came before the Court again he would be treated differently was given to Albert Edward Victor Boyd, aged twenty-three, by Mr. T. B. M'Neil, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court to-day. Boyd had pleaded guilty to failing to comply with the terms of his> release ou probation. The Probation Officer (Mr. T. P. Mills) said that the accused was admitted to twelve months' probation ou 22nd May last, on a charge of stealing bottles. He was to make restitution and pay. witness's expenses, about &8. To date he had only paid £1 of this money, and he had not reported since 14th July. Mr. Mills said he understood that the accused's general conduct was satisfactory. He had a wife and three children to keep, and Mr. Mills suggested that the term of probation should be extended.
