OBITUARY
Mr. Charles Edmund Fabip ,:diea suddenly yesterday at his residence ia Tinakbri road, at the age of .75: 'He was the last of a very old family of pioneers. His father, Alexander Fabian,came to New Zealand' frotp the Island of Jersey iv 1864, with his wife and a family of four boys and one girl. The late Mr. C. E. Fabian, who wafi the youngest of the family, Jed a varied and interesting life . during the' sixtysix years that he spent in tho colony. As a youth he was attached-to the* Bank of New Zealand in Blenheim, and later took a position i.in the post pffic» at Havolock, subsequently receiving an appointment as postmaster at Gore. Farming was Mr. Fabian's chief ■■interest, and he left Blenheim for Greytown to engage in that occupation with two brothers, Alex, and John Fabian. He entered into business ; in Wellington as a stockbroker and land _ agent, and then returned to farming in the "Waikato, and finally took a position .in tho Justice Department, from ■which -Tie-re-tired two years ago.. Mr. Fabian leaves a widow and six children —Mr. Alex. J. Fabian, Melbourne; Mr. J. C. K. Fabian, Mrs. J. A. Koseingrave, Mrs. Alex Heron, Miss Nancy Fabiaa Wellington, and Mrs. Pat Mallom, New York.
