WRESTLING

TONY STECHER ARRIVES,

Tony Steelier, a noted light-heavy-weight wrestler, arrived in Wellington from Auckland by the Limited express this morning looking fit and well for his match against Walter Logan, which is to take place at the Town Hall on Monday night next. Steelier, who is the brother of the famous Joe Steelier, former heavyweight champion of the world, has beaten Kilonis. Ecklund, and many other wellknown wrestlers. He has had 400 contests, and has never yet been defeated. He is famous for his figure four scissors. Walter Logan, who will meet Stecher, is also a wrestler who has a good record. In Auckland he put up a sensational contest with "The Terrible Turk," and was only beaten in the last round. He is America's greatest "headlock king, and although only 23 years of age, he has defeated some of the great matinen m the world, including Kilonis. At Dunedin last week he defeated Tom Ray in what critics describe as "the most sensational bout ever held in New Zealand." The amateur bouts will be in the nature of a tournament, as they will be elimination contests with a view of selecting the champion wrestler of Wellington. Those who wish to obtain seats for the contests should make their reservations at the Ritz tobacconist shop in Manners street.
