An order that the defendant must enter into a bond "of £50 as a.surety to keep the peace was made by, Mr. E. Page,. S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today in a ease in which. William Jeffrey Lowe, social welfare officer of the Wellington Hospital Board, proceeded against Edward Ashby. It was alleged by the complainant that the defendant behaved in a threatening and offensive manner towards him. Mr. J. W. Ward, who appeared for the complainant,' said that, tho defendant had been unemployed arid had been receiving relief from the board. Ashby was one of a number who had been offensive to members of tho board.
