"AT HOME" AT CABARET

A very enjoyable "at horne 53 was held''.yesterday''afternoon at the Adelphi Cabaret, when 'Mrs. E. W. Kane and the Misses Kane entertained a very large' number of friends. Both cabaret rooms were arranged, as drawing-rooms, with- small tables and chairs. Masses of [ spring flowers and tall sprays of blossom and magnolia were used.for the decorations. On. the -walls were hung baskets of pink blossom and crimson rhododendrons.. ; A-feature of the party was the number of old Wellington families represented.

Mrs. Kane received,her guests wearing a. gown of black panne velvet with vest Of pink georgette and a diamante buckle. Her wide, black hat was trimmed with • ostrich feathers, and she wore a skunk stole. Miss May Kane wore black maroeaiu with striking embroideries in red and white, and a red hat. Miss Amy Kano was in bottle green georgette with gold lace braid embroideries, and she wore a wide green felt hat with touches of gold; Music was played during the afternoon by the Cabaret Orchestra, and Miss Marjorie Bennie sang several songa. Trios were Bung by Mrs, Townley, Mrs. Eamsay, and Miss Nora Gray. Among the guests were Lady Carncross, Miss Carncross, Lady Stathain, Lady Myers, Lady Buckleton, Lady Luke, Mrs. and Miss Troup, the Hon. Mrs. Balph Vane, Miss Downie Stewart, Mrs. J.
