A TAME CONTEST
(By Telegraph. -Pres9 Association.) DUNEDIN, 22nd June. The fifteen-round professional boxing contest between Pete Sarron and Sam_ Shack last night resulted in a win on points for Sarron after one of the tamest and most' uninteresting bouts ever seen in Dunedin. With the exception of tho first few rounds, neither man seemed particularly worried as to the ultimate outcome, and the decision was the only one possiblein the circumstances. What little' fighting was done was mostly done by Sarron, and Shack seemed content to keep ■ out of trouble. Throughout the contest hardly a clean connecting blow was struck, and although Shack is undoubtedly a clever defensive .fighter, he carried his elusive tactics too far, while Sarron seemed unable to take advantage of the open target presented him. Time and again a crowd of 3000 expressed disapproval. .
