DOMINION PRESENTATIONS

All the New Z'ealanders at last night's Court agree that their experience was wonderful, and that, once in Buckingham Palace, they did not feel at all nervous. Of the magnificence of the scene, words fail them to describe adequately. Lady Wilford. who was presented b?' Lady Parmoor, wife of the Lord President, of the Council, sponsored eleven ladies from the Dominion. As at the first Court, there were 800 guests, just half that numlicr being debutantes. The. wife of the American Ambassador made nine presentations. The State ballroom, with its walls of white and gold, its crimson carpet and glittering candelabra, was again the setting for an entrancing picture. The King and Queen entered the ballroom at half-past nine, «md the' presentation ceremony occupied over two bouts. His Majesty wore tb» i^lendid full dress uniform of Colonel-in-Cbief of the Coldstream Guards. 4 The Queen Had chosen tor *&« Second Court a lovely dress of silver «nd peach. It consisted of silver chiffon lame with an overdress of pale peach-coloured chiffon embroidered with pearl and silver. A train of peach and silver English brocade, with a lily design embroidered in pearls and silver, swept the ground. Hep Majesty wore a tiara of pearls and diamonds with pearl drops, and rows of pearls and diamonds draped over her gown. On tho corsage of her dress was the riband of the Order of the Garter and the gleaming badges of Family Orders. Among the Royal circle who followed their Majesties into tho ballroom where the two golden Thrones stood upon the crimson dais, were the Duke of Gloucester, in the full-dress uniform of the lOtli Boyal Hussars; Prince George, in naval love© dress; Prince and Princess Arthur of Connaught, and the Marquis and Marchioness of Milford Haven. The band of the Irish Guards was in attendance, and played a selection of music. DRESSES OF KB w" ZEAL ANDERS. Lady Wilfbrd was in an exquisite EevillO'Terry Court gown of star sapphire crepe satin, veiled with sapphire mousselino de soie. Very graceful linos of finely embroidered blue crystals swathed tho corsage and radiated from the, hips to the hem of the long-skirt, with its undulating hem flounced with sapphire tinted chiffon. Tho very handsome Court train was of petal pink duehosse satin embroidered from an Oriental design in pastel pompadour colourings shading to sapphire. It was lined with a pale sapphire blue and gold shot cloth of gold, and was mounted from tho shoulders with jewelled clasps. Mrs B. C. Eenuic (Wellington) was in a very becoming gown of porcelainwbito silk tulle, fitting closely to tho figure, embroidered with silver and iridescent paillettes j- a design of leaves. The train of silver lame was embroidered with silver paillettes and pearls, and lined with silver lame. Mrs Findlay, wife of Sqiiadron-Lead-er J. L. Findlay (Christchurch), was in a very becoming dross of palo acqua-. marine blue, embroidered with goJd tissue. The train was of gold lame. Mrs John F. Kelly (ucc Miss Eilon Macfarlane, of Ben Lomond, Napier) was in a gown of rose opalino georgette, embroidered in fine,bugles of tho same toning. The skirt -was made in two tiers, tho lower one- forming the train to the dress, ovor which w.is worn the Court train, in panne velvet of a shade deeper. The coat of ruby velvet to tono with the train was shaped as a monk's cowl. Mrs Kelly carried a large shower Ijouquet of deep pink

"Sylvia" roses arranged with lily of the valley and pink tulle. Mrs Hubert Nathan (Wellington) was in a beautiful dress of gold lace over lame, with a gold lame train. Her ornaments were a pearl necklace and diamonds. Mrs H. E. Davis (Masterton), wife of the London representative of the' New. Zealand Dairy Board) chose a Court dress of beige bois do rose.chiffou | and lace. The tight-fitting bodice of j lace petalled out into a very full long j skirt, of .chiffon, with, lace panels. The train, of. pleated chiffon, was veiled with laco and weighted and edged with pearls. Instead of a bouquet Mrs Davis carried a feather fan of bois do rose. Miss Stella Murray (Christchurch) looked very handsome in her gown of pale parchment satiu duchesse with long lines of diamante trimming. Her train was of the same material bordered with silvor. Instead of a bouquet Miss Murray carried a large and graceful cascade fan of ostrich feathers iv cherry colour. Miss Meta Nixon.(Christchurch) also was iv 'ivory satin, cut with long slim lines; the train, of similar material, was lined with maize chiffon embroidered with a true lover's knot pattern. She carried a bouquet of yellow rosebuds to tone. . ~ . Miss Virginia L. Nichols (Maheho) was in a gown of heavy ivory crepe satin boauto, the panels'.of the loug full skirt graduating and being inset into the tight-fitting corsage in a leaf design. Tho train of the same material was ruehed with shell piuk chiffon and embroidered in a feathery pattern, iv silver lined bugles and diamante. Miss Joyce Nathan (Wellington) was In piuk chiffon over a foundation of paler chiffon and satin, the skirt being made in petals. The bodice was embroidered in pearls and silver, and the graceful train was of silver lame. Miss Sheila Guiubleton (Christchurch) wore ivory chiffon. The Court train of the same material was lived with pale pink chiffon. The bodice was cut' low at the back. and had a very full skirt, ankle length. The shoulder straps and train were hand-embroidered with pearls. Miss Gumbleton's Court plumes were attached, to a coronet-shaped bandeau of pearls. She-, carried a shower bouquet of pink and white carnations. Miss Elena' Helmoro (Timaru) was in whit© chiffon, the bodice being tightfitting, the skirt being long and full. The train of silver lame was patterned with a gold-leaf design, and was lined with white chiffon. A fan of white ostrich was carried in preference to a bouquet.
