• Despite the wintry conditions" that'prevailed everything was cosy md bright'iii the rooms of the British Sailors' Society on Wednesday- evening for the entertainment 'given by Mr. 'Claude Sandei's's pupils. These dlever children delighted the large audience of -.seafarers. >witlr -their, songs, elocutionary - numbers, and- dances^ At the conclusion a vote of thanks'was proposed to Mr. and liiß/p.upils, some of whom,had come from Porirua' atid Johnsonville, and was carried withaccjamation and cheers. Supper was served by; the young ladies of the. society; at the conclusion of the programme. Items were contributed by Misses L. Kennedjv Jean Falls, Freda: Harris,~ Jessie Hogg.' Dolores Harris, Minnie O'Connor, Flo Moirihari, and Jack Feehan, and Mr. N. Saiuiers;■;.'.'
