ST. CUTHBERT'S
The annual general meeting of parishioners' was held at St. Cuthbert's Hall on Wednesday. The vicar, the Rev. N. fa. Barnett, presided over a good attendance. The chairman stated that while the continual movement of the population was-a very big obstacle to their work, yet steady and telling work was being accomplishedthanks to a large band of keen and efficient workers. He thanked them all most warmly for their help. The number of baptisms showed an increase over those of last year; marriages and burials were about the same. The attendance at iiaster Communion was 14 per cent, above that of last year. The churchwardens' report stressed the difficulty of organising the material side of the parish work . owing to the very great movement of the people. "The records of attendance of the Berhampore State School are an almost infallible barometer of the movement of the population, and while the total number on the roll is 531, no less than 499 new names have been entered within the last two and a quarter years." But notwithstanding the difficulties encountered, the balance-sheets showed a credit of £23 5s lid. The following officers were elected: — Vicar's churchwarden, Mr. W. Husband; people's churchwarden, Mr. C. W. B. Edwards; vestry, Messrs. R. 8011, R. D. G. Feasey. H. E. H. Gi11,.11. Groves, W. J. Harris, Mesdames Charles, ]?. RobertsoD, and C. W.
