RUGBY LEAGUE
THE SEASON'S PROMISi:
The annual meeting of the. Wellington Rugby League was held last evening, Mr. W-. L. Davies presiding. It was reported that the balance-sheet showed a credit balance /of 14s 3d. The annual report stated that the past season gave no measure of progress, but a. considerable amount of work had been put in. There had been, no gate revenue, but the expenses had been met from donations. Funds had. been received from th New Zealand Rugby League. Wellington ""would be well supplied with players, this season, owing to transfers hi some of the Government services,. An offer of training quarters had been received, and loyalty to the code continued to'be shown by the players. On the motion of Mr. W. Corcoran, it was decided to write to the New Zealand Rugby" League asking "for representation on the selection committee for the ''.team, to go to Australia. The following officers were : elected:— President, Mr. F. C. Ball; vice-presidents, Messrs, B: Smith. L. Mills, W., Hedges, J Hedges, C. Wrack, W. C. Hunt, C. J. Norwood, R.'M'Keen, M.P., J. Ryan and Mrs. E. Ivory; chairman, Mr. W. L. Davies; vice-chairman, Mr. H. Lawrence; secretary, Mr. W. Corcoran; treasurer, Mr. W. Power; auditor, Mr. W. C. Hunt. The committee will consist of the chau> 'man, secretary, treasurer, ■ and two delegates from each club.',, ,■■.!, ~ •■/.. Mr. W.L. Sterling (Auckland) was appointed one' of the. centre's delegates on the New Zealand Rugby League,. and it was decided to hold over the matter oE appointing a second delegate.
