Yesterday's depression has passed eastwards of the South Island and pressure is now high between New Zealand and Australia/ an Intense anticyclone being centred over Tasmania. South-west winds have rulsd, fresh occasionally at places but generally light or moderate in force. The weather has been cool and mainly fair, although somewhat changeable, and since last night scattered showers have fallen from the Taranaki and Wellington districts southwards, and at Kawhia heavy rain was reported early this morning. ■-..-■ TO-OAY'S WEATHER.
