DAIRY INDUSTRY PROTECTION

' j The Canadian Trade Commissioner, Mr. Croft, states'that the vow treaty is designed to extend trade between Canada and New /Zealand and afford a slightly greater protection to the Canadian dairy industry. ' Canada has been exporting large quantities of milk and ereani to the United States, but with the proposed raising of the American tariff the Canadian farmers feared a surplus of butterfat. '■ Mr. Croft also pointed out that at present no direct agreement existed between Canada and New Zealand.
