The latter scored ( a boundary in Root's first over The last ball struck the batsman on the leg. Woodfull reached his hundred in the second over of tlie day. He had not given the slightest chance, and had iristimed only one ball. - Bradman made no attempt to force the pace uutil he got his century. He and Woodfull then opened their shouldors, even to Root, who was keeping :i £or/d k'ngth. Woodfull threw away his wicket by trying to lift an easy straight ball from Brook. Ho really hit at every ball after he got his century. His innings occupied 190 minutes, and included eleven fours and jne five. FAST SCORING. The brilliant double century by Bradman was the feature of the day 's play. His effort amazed the spectators. He treated the bowlers with scant respect. Ho pasted the ball to all parts of the field, reaching his century in 120 minutes. Woodfull and Bradman put on 200 in just over two hours.
