WEDDINGS

A recent evening wedding solemnised at St. Mark's Church was that of Irene Frances, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hawthorn, Boseneath, and Lionel Charles, only son of Mr..,and Mrs. A. Tyler, Wellington. . The Rev. H. E. K. Fry officiated.' The bride's charming gown was of pink georgette and lace. Her embroidered veil was caught at the back with a spray of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of pink roses, carnations,'iand maidenhair fern. The bridesmaids, Misses Vera1 and Edna Hawthorn, were, in lettuce green, arid lemon georgette and lace respectively. Their .becoming hats were to tone with the frocks, and they carried bouquets of autumn-tinted flowers and' maidenhair fern. Mr. B. Dentice was best man, and. Mr. H. Mills groomsman. There were many friends at the church t'and later at the reception, which was held, at the: Dominion Farmers' Institute Hall, where Mrs. Hawthorn re-l ceiyed the guests, wearing a frock of black georgette and lace and a black hat. Mrs. Tyler (mother of the bridegroom) was in bottle green satin with | a hat to match. The bride and bridegroom left for the North, the bride's travelling costume being' ' :of. green satin, and she wore aWo a smart broad- [ tail coat of brown and hat to tone.
