Messrs. H. E. Holland, M.P., P. Eraser, M.P., ana W. Nash, M.P., left for Auckland last night to take part in the Parnell by-election. Dr.'A. F. Maekay has arrived from London via Australia on a visit toi his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. Mackay, of Karori, before proceeding to his duties in the Malay Federated States. , ' Mr. F. News has been received of the .death in England of Mr. James Dykes, formerly of Wellington," who has been in England in tho employ of the .Dairy Board for several years. The laic. After holding a position in the- Bank of Now Zealand in ChristchurcSi and then in Wellington, ho set up iii: business on his own account as a CQ>mmission agent, subsequently becoming a partner in the firm of Gnaltor, Dykes, and Co. He assisted in the Neir Zealand Court at the Wembley Exhibition, and was later employed by the Dairy Board in arranging exhibitions of Now Zealand dairy produce in various centres.
