POLITICAL ASSOCIATION
The coinuiitteo of the New Zealand Political Association met on Tuesday last, when Mr. Edwin Salniond (prasident) occupied the chair. '; "■■'" '- ■■ The report presented to the ineefihg stated that consideration ■ had' beien' given to the matter of Parliamentary candidates for the city seats at 4he next General Election; that sub-eain-mittees had been appointed to confer on the subject, and later would further flliscuss it with members of the association in the various electorates; and that' at the proper time names of candidates who would receive the support ofthe association would be announced. The report stated that by supporting nieasures for the benefit of the people generally in preference to party polities, these candidates would conform to'the chief principle of the association. IPhe report also stated that during the,past three weeks 160 new members Jiad b«en enrolled, tho number in Wellington. T>eing over a 'thousand. . ' ■ •
