SPEEDWAY EVENTS
BIG MEETING.TO-MORROW.
The prospects of Frank Pearce, the brilliant Australian "cinder [shifter," setting a new mark for the track at the Kllbirnie Stadium Speedway appear to be very bright, and it is anticipated that in making his attempt at the commencement of to-morrow night's meeting Pearce will succeed in breaking 80 seconds for laps from a flying start. An attempt at the record is also to jbe made by Wally Kilmister. Iv both efforts there should bo broadsiding of an outstanding order, and for further thrills there will be the special points',race between Pearce, Eilmlster, and van Praag, who will meet one another three times under rolling start conditions. These events will furnish but part- of a big programme. Eric Whittle and Max Granam, two Australian riders who have shown that they are j spectacular' broadsiders, will appear in.a special match race, and this, too, should bo of a ftrilling nature. Six of tho leading local riders are to take part in a special six scratch race, which should be keenly contesiQ'i in heats ar.<) final. The talent for the mcßting is exceptionally good, and the indications are that the performances will be of a high order, with compjtitlon keen in all races.
