VOICE WANTED

CONTROL OF RUGBY GAME

"We are still'holding out for a voice •n tho main body, and apparently South Africa is with us in the idesire to have direct representation,' 3 remarked Mr. S. S. Dean, chairman of the New Zealand Eugby Union, to a "Post" reporter yesterday, in referring to the claims of the Dominions for improved status in Rugby football. "We feel that the efforts of the combined Dominions must result in tlie Home unions giving us a voice and a say in the making of rules and rulings."

Mr. Dean added that the New Zealand ltiigby Union intended to go ahead with it's proposal, to, hold a conference during the visit of the British Eugby team. Invitations had been extended to the Home unions and to Canada, South Africa, and New, South Wales to send delegates to the conference; which would be held about the 4th August. It had been suggested that the Home unions should be represented by Mr. J. Baxter (manager) and the captain of the British team, and it had been left to New South Wales to arrange with the other unions in Australia to send representatives.
