CANBEEBA, This Day.

One of the Government's first tasks will bo the repeal of the Development and Migration Act, according to Mr.

Scullin, who says that there is evidence on all sides of unemployment not only among Australians but among migrants, "to whom we promised tho Australian standard of living and an assured livelihood. Tho Commonwealth Ministry will not be a party to a continuaneo of such an arrangement." Tho Prime Minister added that both Federal and State Governments had failed to meet their obligations undor tho Act, and the matter would bo among those discussed at the conference of Commonwealth and State Ministers at Canberra this week.
