A Press Association telegram' from Christohurch reports the death of Mr. F. M. Hudson, travelling representative of Messrs. Carniiehae-1 and Co., of Auckland. Ho suffered a stroke yesterday.

Mr. A. Upehureh, a member of the Melrose Football Club, has left Wellington for London to join the Eoyal Air Force. Mr. Upehureh has been: a prominent member of tho Melrose Club since its reconstruction in 1925. He represented the club in tho fourth grade representatives in 1925, and was half-back in the senior team last year.

The resignation of the secretary,' Mr. L. G. P. Whyte, owing to his transfer to Palmerston North, was received at last night's meeting of the Wellington Federation Educational Association. Appreciation of Mr. Whyte's services was expressed in a motion put by Mr. N. A. Ingram and carried unanimously. Mr. A. T. Burnett was appointed to fill the vacancy.' . l • ■;■■

A tribute was ' paid by Mr. W. A. Parton at'the Boys' Institute Management Committee' meeting to the work of Mr. J. M. Morice, whose death oe-' curred at his residence on Sunday morning last. Mr. Parton said that Mr. Morice had been a ■ member of the Management Committee for many years past, and had done a great deal in the service of the. boys. Deep sorrow was expressed at the news:of his death.

The death occurred to-day at Ekotahuna of Mr. William Muir "Wilson, aged 61 years, who was for thirty-six years a coachbuilder in the town, and was closely associated with movements for the progress of the borough, states a Press Association telegrani. He was a member of the Borough Council, for several terms, and a* prominent Mason. He leaves a widow and two daughters.

Lord and Lady Latimer will arrive by the Tahiti from Sydney on Monday next to fish and stalk. . Lord Latimer is a Bachelor of Arts. Ho was a captain in the Eoyal North' Devon Yeomanry, and served during 1915-17 in Gallipoli and Egypt ■with, the second South-West Mounted Brigade. Ho was formerly a partner in the banking, firm of Coutts and Co. • The arrangements made include a visit to Taupo for a week's fishing. They will then proceed to 'their deer stalking camp thirty miles into the ■ hills from Makarora, amongst the wildest scenery and the best stalking obtainable. Their camp, which is to be under .the direction of Mr. B. C. Wiffen, will be the last word in comfort. They will remain in camp a month and will leave for Home on' 26th ; April.

■ The retirement of Mr. G. H. ■Plilmmer, Senior District Inspector in the Auckland Education District, in addition to that of Mr. C. W>. Garrard, Senior Inspector Of Schools, is Announced, states a Press Association telegram. Both Messrs. Garrard and,Plummer will retiro on' superannuation on 31st March, Mr. Plumnter, has served for 42 years, the whole time in the Auckland district. Owing to the illness of Mr. Garrard, Mr. Plummer is at ,present occupying the position of Senior Inspector. From Ist April the position of Senior Inspector will be filled by, Mr. J. Kobertson, Senior Inspector in the Hawkes Bay district. Mr. N.. H. S. Law, inspector at Wanganui, will fill the vacancy caused by. the: re.tiremont of Mr. Plummer. ' ■ ~

The death of Mr. Neville. Newconib, at the age of 64, occurred this morning. Mr. Newconib had suffered indifferent health for a number of years, and since the war had made three trips Home, partly for his. health and partly for business . reasons, telegraphs the "Post's" Auckland correspondent. The last trip he undertook in 1928, return-, ing last November. .Since-then he had been confined to his-bed. At, the outbreak of the war Mr. Newconib, who held the rank of captain in the New Zealand Motor Corps, • offered his services and was appointed commandant of tho Tunnelling Corps camp at Avondale. : From, there he was transferred as adjutant to the training camp at Tauherenikau. Subsequently, when the Feathers.ton camp was built/ and the troops were transferred, Mr. Newcomb was also transferred'as adjutant. He was promotod to the rank of major in 1917. The service ho gavo during those years was recognised with the award of the Order of the British Empire, which was conferred upon' Mm at Buckingham Palace. He was a keen motorist and for a number of years occupied the position of president of. the Auckland Automobile Association. He was'also connected with English • Freemasonry and was a Past District Grand SeniorWarden of the Auckland district. The deceased is survived by a. widow, two sons (one at • school s in England), and one daughter,(Mrs. Vaughan-Phillpott,-of Kenya, British East Africa).
