■' The Australian Whaling Company has gone to allotment. It will take over and commence operations nt the Point Cloates Whaling Station, Western Australia. Whales are reported to be plentiful in southern waters, and the demand for oil continues good. The company hopes that everything will be in readiness to extend 'operations to the Antarctic, with a niother ship, early next season. Operations of the mother ship will be in addition to operations off the coast of Western Australia. The base of the mother ship will be Port Chalmers. The company has made arrangements with the Otago Harbour Board, which will give it every possible assistance in connection with the base.
